Krueger Kaserne, later renamed Armstrong Kaserne, was one of many former Wehrmacht kasernes in southern Germany that housed US troops throughout the Occupation and Cold War period. In 2007, 1st Squadron, 1st Cavalry - the last unit to serve at Armstrong Kaserne - cased its colors, thus ending the 62-year presence of the US Army in Büdingen.
