The Army faced several problems in fielding the new heavy division (Division 86), including a shortfall in personnel. Therefore to provide manpower spaces for modernizing the forces in Germany, the 4th Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, was inactivated in Europe between April and September (in July?) 1984 along with other units throughout the Army. |
