This was the airfield from which the Huey from Echo Company (501st ABC) took off from, shortly before it crashed in the early morning hours of February 25, 1981.
   
     
   
The largest piece of the fuselage to survive the crash, contained fuel cells/bladders that still contained JP-4. This is the one that gave us trouble back at the heliport, due to fuel leakage in the hanger. We actually found one full fuel cell just setting on the ground in the wreckage.
