503rd Aviation Battalion (Source: Kevin Scherrer) SFC Jim Avant, Platoon Sergeant, UH-1 Platoon, A/503 Avn, is inducted into the West German Army's NCO Corps. NCO's from the 352nd Panzergrenadier Battalion inducted SFC Avant into the Corps through a combination of military camaraderie, (much) alcohol, and three home-run swings with a saber on his bare fourth-point-of-contact. Thank God for the alcohol.
