Flag flying on
George Washington's birthday 2-22-1962. Headquarters Building
for Tompkins Barracks in back. (Note: To the left of flag
pole, on the roof was a red cross. All buildings on this
post had red crosses painted on them. Reason for this was
so that Allied bombers would not bomb them when the German's
occupied this area during World War II. I was told that
the red crosses denoted hospital buildings.)
