The 98th General Hospital has completed its move to the new 1000-bed hospital plant at Neubrücke, near Baumholder.

Until July of this year, the 98th was located in Munich, then moved to a temporary location at the US Army Medical Center in Landstuhl where it was reorganized in preparation for its move to Neubrücke. A group from the Munich installation (2nd Fld Hosp) served as the cadre for the new staff during the reorganization.

The hospital's CO, Col Albert H. Robinson, announced that hospital personnel are currently engaged with preparations for occupancy of each new building in the plant as the buildings are turned over to the Army by the contractors. Patients will not be received until completion of buildings and grounds at the new site.

USAREUR's newest medical facility is operated by the 98th General Hospital. (The 98th moved to Neubrücke on Sept 1.)

The plant had been under construction for 15 months and consists of 12 buildings, ten of which will be used as ward areas and the others to house operating rooms, clinics and laboratories. The hospital will have 40 wards for patients, the first of whom arrived aboard hospital trains from France and Germany.
