Hanau Signal Depot (Source: Bill Doyle) Taken around 1950. Same barracks as later occupied by an armored unit. I think the 7796th moved out in 1952. Quarters were on the second floor while the first floor and basement were used for labs, camera repair, various offices. The third floor was vacant but held a company run beer and snack bar. Illegal but the company commander thought that he would rather have his people drinking at home rather than in town or at the club. The quadrangle in front of the building was used for reveille, parades and baseball.
