I was a cook at Linderhofe from 1965-1968.
It was a very interesting assignment. I explored all the little towns in the area and the Gasthäuser.
And I eventually married a girl from Bosingfeld (Extertahl). We had many wonderful times with her family in Bosingfeld. We are still happily married and are getting ready to celebrate our 50th Wedding Aniversary.
Looking at the serial photo of the communications site:
The buildings on top of the hill are the generator building, and the Microwave control & radio building.
The square building below to the left is the motor pool. - one pit & one bay.
The larger building included at the foot of the hill, comrpised the billets, supply room, mess hall, club, mail room and unit offices.
We served all the personnel and guests in the dining hall. |
