The Vehicle Processing Center was originally located near the Bremerhaven Dependents' Hotel. The facility was bordered on the west by Barkhausenstrasse and on the east by the row of buildings on the western side of Bürgermeister-Smidt Strasse; to the north it was bordered by Am Gitter and to the south by Schleusenstrasse.
