Hörsching Air Base, Austria (Source: Webmaster's private collection) The former Luftwaffe air base 10 km southwest of Linz, Austria was used by the 79th Fighter Group, XII Tactical Air Command, USAFE, from mid-1945 to mid-1947. Bldg #17 (in center) served as Officers Club and Mess during the early 1950s.
