Hörsching Air Base, Austria (Source: Webmaster's private collection) The 416th Night Fighter Squadron (flying the P-61 Black Widow) hangar. (I believe this was Hangar #5.) The 416th NFS, one of three night fighter squadrons serving in the Occupation Air Force, was stationed at Hörsching Air Base between August 1945 and about September or October 1946. It was then moved to Schweinfurt where it was inactivated in November 1946.
