Do you have any comments?	I served in the US Army at Kelley barracks in Stuttgart from June of 1968 until Dec. of 1969. Had my wife (Mary) and daughter (Kellie) over there with me. Had a great time and drank a lot of beer. Would like to hear from any of the guys from HHC that remember us or were there during those dates. Names I remember: French and Miller from Iowa, Tynan from Indiana, Duhlberg and Spence from NY, Napaloski from Penn, Sgt. Koon, Lt. Mackey, Msgt. Hape. Spent a lot of time at Graphenwoer and even drove a school bus back and forth and used to sneak away and take the guys swimming in the off limits lake in town as no one could tell we were G.I.'s in our swimming suits

Do you have any comments?	My father was the SGM of the 94th Engr. Bn. in Nellingen during 1960-63. We were there when the Berlin Wall went up -- and my brother was stationed in Germany when the Wall came down! A group of us, former military dependents who lived in Nellingen & Kelley Barracks during 1960-64, have our own reunion website -- we've located about 50 friends and are still searching for others. Our site address is http://groups.msn.com/NellingenKelleyClassmates. We've enjoyed sharing many fond memories of our early teen years in Germany and will soon see each other in person at our 40-year reunion in Atlanta Oct. 24! Living in Germany during those days was the only place we were ever stationed where every member of the family had their own dog tags. (I still have mine!) For those who do not already know this, "our" Nellingen Barracks was handed back over to the Germans and the last military personnel left in 1992. Practically the entire post was demolished -- they kept but completely remodeled the housing area, making as many new apartments as possible. The former post is now a new, "model city" named Scharnhauser Park. We have many photos on our website if anyone is interested in seeing them. As we continue our search for other old friends, I hope that anyone reading this message on this wonderful site will offer any information or help they can regarding others who were Army Brats in Nellingen or Kelley during 1960-64. As former children of the military, most of our own families have continued the military legacy and tradition. We honor and pray for all of our military forces -- God Bless America. Thank you.

Remember the ice run in winter up on Peach st? And in summer, you went down the same hill on cardboard boxes!! Claff in 1945 in Erbach ( Liaison and Security Office for Landkreis Erbach OMG for Land Greater Hessen, APO 633. U.S. Army).My grandfather's name is Bill.This is all I know.But there were only 10-20 soldiers.So if I would find that list, it could be easy to find him. Do you have any comments?	Does anyone remember the "Overseas Weekly" which was such a pain in the rear to the Army in Germany. Could not find anything about it on the net. Must have died after the early fifties but it was immensly popular when it came out. The Stars and Stripes stuck to the party line but the O/S weekly was a real scandal sheet.

Do you have any comments?	Army Brat Lived in Germany 1958 to 1961, too young to remember that. Then returned 1969 and stayed until 1972. Started out living at Crailheim, McKee Barracks. Dad worked over a Schwaibish Hall with an OV-1 Mohawk Aviation Unit. Later we moved up to Hanau and lived in base housing on Old Argonne Kaserne. Dad worked out at Fliegerhorst Kaserne where we later moved to when family housing became available. Dad still worked avonics on the OV-1 MoHawks that flew up and down the East German border. My father at the time was a warrant officer and had many friends, as I remember the parties as a kid.

Do you have any comments?	First in (Munchengladbach) Germany April '45 to July '45 then back to USA; as Cpl, USArmy, to Special Troops, Berlin, 1949-50, as Editor, BERLIN OBSERVER post newspaper. Met and married a Berlin girl (recently celebrated 51st anniversary). Wedding was in Tempelhof AFB Chapel. Now we're grandparents. Have been "home" to Germany, especially Berlin, between 1986 and 1997, always a thrill. But time goes by, so much and so fast, and will just have to thrive on the memories. Do you have any comments?	What a fantastic sight you have here. Its great reading all the prior posts about those stationed in Germany. Really brings back some great memories. I spent 3 years in the army, from 89-92. During that time I had 4 duty stations. I started out at Giessen army Depot with the 518th. I remember going up to my room and noticing the pop machine as I passed by. Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Budweiser. Budweiser? I couldnt believe it. The barracks were fairly new, with 3 man rooms and each room having their own bathroom and shower. I remember out the back window they were building another set of barracks, but from what I heard later they were handed over to the Germans and never actually got used by the U.S. GIs. From the very beginning I loved Giessen. Living in the barracks was like staying at a fraternity. Everyone got along great and man were there some weird personalities. I remember taking the mini-cab out to what we called twin lakes during the summer. One lake was your traditional topless German beach, however the other was a totally nude lake. We usually swam at the first. There was also a great disco we used to go to out in Lich. Speaking of Lich, Licher bier was the beer of choice in those days. The Giessener bier was just lousy, however we did tour the brewery one time and it tasted much better straight from the tap. The town of Giessen had a great pedestrian zone with lots of shops and pubs. I was there when Germany won the World Cup in soccer; words cannot describe the scene in Giessen that night. One of the funniest nights of my life. After about 4 months I was sent to Darmstadt for TDY. Being the new guy I guess I was low man on the totem pole, but I loved the time in Darmstadt and made nice money on TDY. I believe the barracks were Kelly Barracks. There was a big shopping store on the left, Wertkauf I believe, and then a base on the right and a little further down on the left was our base. A tiny post with a f

I fondly remember Darmstadt and the people, of course that was when we were appreciated. My association with the draftees were the most enjoyable of my military career. Have been looking for people who were there at that time. My husband is German and worked for the 8594 company. We would love to hear from anyone. I am thankful to the Army for giving me the chance to go to Germany and travel throughout europe. I had many wonderful experiences and met many wonderful Germans. They have a beautiful country, with so much history. Beautiful castles and the best bier in the world. Stationed with the AMSF aviation general support branch at Coleman from 75 to 76. Worked with some real wizards until they replaced us with a bunch of contract civilians. Moved to Kitzingen AAF with the 14th ATC where I battled a stubborn TVOR until PCS in 78. Lost most of my pictures in the move back stateside so these websites have been priceless to me. Do you have any comments?	How about a Squid (and I use the term respectfully) in USAEUR. I was with the Naval Security Group in Bremerhaven from 1958 - 1960 (then back with the Navy). We had Army, Navy and AF in our ops building. Navy was exempt from the Alerts; however, my name or phone # somehow got on the Army list, and every time there was an alert, I was call out at about 3 AM. Couldn't get it across to the caller that I was Navy, and not involved in alert. Good tour in Bremerhaven.

I was an avionics technician at William O'Darby Kaserne in Fuerth, Germany from June 1962 until June 1963.I worked at the Signal Field Maintenance shop and I forget the name of the outfit. My department took care of the commo and navigation gear at 15 or so Army Airfields within a 75 mile radius--south to Regensburg--to the Czech border and Hoenfels and Grafenwohr Nato training areas. We also had audio/visual and teletype repairmen in the shop. We also took care of most of the commo gear in the MP and fire station vechicles and stations. On occasion we would work on some Embassy vechicles as international favors. I would love to hear from anyone who was there. David C. Douglas who was a roomie and good friend was killed in the 70's in a car crash back in his home state of Washington. I did recently hear from Ron Kantola who is listed here. Prosit!

The JayHawk LRRPs are having a reunion from the 18th of June thru the 22d, at Fort Campbell, KY. For more information about this unit visit www.geocities.com/lrrp7corps it is the official site and is full of memorabilia and historical facts of the original LRRP Company. This company, together with the 5th Corps LRRPs was returned to the states and has since evolved into the 2 Battalions of the 75th Rangers.

I was stationed at Flak Kaserne, Ludiwgsburg at STARPAC from Feb 75 thru Sept 77. I know Flak is now closed down and about to be totally torn down but would like to see some history on my old unit. I'd also like to hear from anyone who was stationed at Flak during these years. My ex husband was in 32nd Trans, 4th Bn at Flak during these years also. I remember our mess hall being the best in the area and the NCO Club was the largest in the area as well. Nice website here! Pictures would be terrific too!
