Arrived in Vienna in spring 1947, Detatchment a, 52nd Ordnance Group, in the suberb of Sievering, 19th bezirk. While serving there the designation changed to 86th ord. HAM Co. Transferred from Vienna in 1949 to Camp Rum Permanent Storage Depot where I served with the ordnance detatchment on the hill & also at a warehouse attatched to a foundry in Sol Bad Hall. I Have numerous photos from the installation at 76 Weinberggasse and from Camp Rum, which I would gladly share. I am in process of putting them on CDs. Thank you fro the web site. "Ham"

I was a member of the 49th Army Band, stationed in Vienna. I was there from around Christmas, 1947 to July, 1948. We played at not only military formations but concerts in small villages (I suppose for propaganda purposes)

Bill... Great website and quite informative. I served with 88th Recon in both TRUST and USFA during 1954 through 1955. In TRUST in the small town of Duino and than at armitise outfit moved to Linz/Wels via Camp Darby and its tent city. Of course it all came to and end in late 1955 when we folded the guidon and left for the states. Be happy to communicate with any members of the 88th Recon. Again Bill...one great site.
