Wes: I'll take up the challenge and submit a post. I was in the hospital 2 weeks ago and received the award of an electronic defibrillator being implanted in my chest. Not much fun but better than the alternative. Let's face it Wes. there are fewer and fewer of us around all the time. Why don't some more of you guys out there step up and let us know you are still breathing air. God Bless and Merry Christmas.

When I was born in 1953 I lived at San Saba Camp(Trieste) with my Mother then migrating with her to Lager Glasenbach. .My mothrr passed in 1997. I have a name of my father but have really little info but a name and thst he's was Romanian. if any anyone has any info where I may search I would greatly appreciate. When I met my sister Lily in Sidney Au 2006 she gave me pictures of myself and Mother while living at Lager Glasenbach. I know my Mother went thru a lot living at these camps . She eas political refugee at avery young age. It was great to find your site. Sincerely yours, Anna Maria Kerkes .

Hello! My father, George W. Howard, served in the 510th Field Artillery Battalion in Linz, Austria (in 1949). He would love to hear from anyone that he served with at that time--please feel free to contact me at my e-mail address, and I will pass the information along to him. Thank you! :-)

Hello - I was given a bracelet by my Great Aunt with a USFA charm with insignia, the other charms are all Austrian. It took me awhile but I finally found your website and learned not only what USFA was but a bit of history I was not familiar with. If anyone knows anything about these bracelets and who received them or if they were sold as souvenirs I would like to hear from you. It appears to be pewter and many of the emblems were painted with the insignia/flag colors. I believe the bracelet came from her brother-in-law who was a Merchant Marine at that time. Thanks!

This site is great. I was looking for my old unit the 45th Field Hospital and found this. I spent all my time at either Bosco AAF or at Passalaqua from 1965 to 1967. I made a lot of friends at Bosco both army and air force.

I was a member of the 65th Division, we had just taken Linz when the war ended. My battery was in St. Florian monastary. When "Harry" dropped the bomb I went to the 26th Division, then to the 83rd and then to Vienna. I was General Mark Clarks chief clerk in his private office from January to end of June of 1946. Like to hear from anyone there at that time.

My father, MSGT. James M. Whitt, mother and I were in Zell Am See in 1952. I was 6 at the time. When I was old enough to start school, we had to transfer to St. Johann where I started my 1st grade education in the US dependent school at Camp St. Johann. I saw the photo of the camp taken from the mountain high above the town and saw the school building where I went to school. I remember St. Johann had a great swimming pool and I spent a lot of time there during the summer. In one of the low level photos of the camp there is a Lincoln Continental parked beside a building, It belonged to a friend of my father's (Harold Lane). I have a photo of this man's kids and myself sitting on the hood of the Lincoln and posing for the photo. I think my father was in a Combat Engineer unit as he was always talking about either building bridges or blowing them up. There was some great trout fishing and deer hunting in Austria,...my father hunted with his M-1 Garand. I really like your website, the photos of Zell Am See and St. Johann brought back
