Searching for anyone wih information or memories of my father Joseph D. Harris. do not know what his rank was but was in the H&S company/ 70th engineer combat battalion 1949-1950/51 he was from Cleveland Oh. He told me he was at times driver for his company commander. Anyone with informaion/pictures with him in them etc... would be greatly appreciated.

I was a member of the 11th AAA AW SP Battalion stationed at Camp McCauley and Camp Roeder from 1951 to 1953 and was aboard the General Callen that arrived safely at the port of Leghorn, Italy. I was a member of "D" Battery.

My dad- Col. Louis F. Saylor, M.D.- was commander of the 110th Station Hospital in Vienna, from late 1947~early 1948, until we left for the States in early 1950. We lived in what had been a fairly good-sized private residence right across the street from the hospital. It was interesting growing up in Vienna; I still remember some of my German. While we were there, the movie "The Third Man", with Orson Welles, was made. Lots of very interesting people came to our house from time to time! Anyone that was in Vienna at the time, especially anyone who remembers my dad (or me & my mom, for that matter) is welcome to contact me anytime.
