The largest prefab hangar in USAREUR is currently being constructed at Schwaebisch Hall by engineers from the 94th Engr Bn (Construction) and the 39th Engr Group. Actual construction began on Sept 25.
Once completed, the hangar will be used by the USAREUR Aviation Safety and Standardization Detachment (UASSD) located there. USAAD operates the USAREUR Aviation School. Plans for the hangar were initiated after the move of the Aviation School from Augsburg (Gablingen) to Schwaebisch Hall in Aug 1968. |
