3146th Signal Service Group
(Source:
private collection, Walter Elkins)
An unidentified radio relay tower probably used by the 3146th as part of the radio relay system supporting HQ USFET. (Webmaster note: Matthias Eifert, Germany, has provided an ID for this tower. This is the Observation Tower on Hohes Gras, just west of Kassel. A Wikipedia article (in German) states that the tower was requisitioned by the US Army after WWII and probably used by Signal Corps units until the early 1950s. Location = GOOGLE Maps)

Webmaster note: more information has been identified on this tower which served as a radio relay tower known as "Kassel 1 Relay" in the Kassel-Bremen Decimeter link - see article.
