Training on the .50 Cal. in preparation for SCQC at Wildflicken in 1965
The photo pictures Lt. Montgomery looking on as Platoon Sgt. Adams assembles the .50 cal. Lt.
Thomas M. Montgomery who was my platoon leader in 1965/66.
He went on to become a Lt. General and retired in 1997. I hadn't realized this until recently when I was trying to find some of the guys from the Scout Platoon.
Lt. Montgomery was a great platoon leader. He was a people person. It is not surprising he went so far up the ladder. He was a ROTC officer too.
