2nd Bn, 56th Arty, 1966-68 (Source: Richard Tracy) At this point, the New BOC's 80-foot UHF tower was under construction: you can see two of us climbing up to work on it; we built it from a kit which contained all the necessary parts, but did paint over its alternating international orange and white sections with OD! We were still using the 20-foot antenna on the radar van, while the radar tower -- designed to hold the 40-foot AN/GSS-7 antenna -- was being used by our commo section to hold an impressive array of UHF antennas.
