The IFC
lightning rods are prominent -- sticking up from the camo
net canopy. Beyond them is the LOPAR: known simply as the
"Acq" (pronounced "ack"), it supplied general radar surveillance
video -- displayed on BCT and RCT consoles -- to the IFC.
The MTR, at right, was computer-controlled: it tracked the
missile, and sent guidance and burst commands to it. In
the foreground are the BOC generator shed, gasoline and
diesel fuel tanks, lightning rod, and (as yet unoccupied)
radar tower.
