Ansbach Army Heliport, 1977-79
This is 1978, looking west toward the 5815 buildings from in front of building 5818.... D Co, 501st CAB barracks.
This is from my room on 2nd floor of Building 5818, a typical sight of
tanks from the tankers across the street. The trees block the view of
the heliport's main gate that the white car just passed through. The reason for so much tank traffic was that the railhead was on the Army Heliport side - the tanks and other vehicles of the ground units were loaded onto rail cars at the railhead.
