The two pictures of the Cobra are of my aircraft
70-16103 parked on the grass just past the B Company's
flight line. Usually the OH-58's were parked there.
The problem with parking the aircraft there is that
the airfield is open in the back, and a few times a
week sheep were herded across the airfield. The
bottom of the aircraft are just the right height for
the sheep to scratch their backs, and on occassion we
would find broken FM antennas on the Cobras, or
cracked chin bubbles on the -58's. As a side note,
the blue inlet cushions are courtesy of an old pair of
Levi's. It was difficult to get covers through
supply, so the legs from a pair of jeans served the
purpose. |
