This
very grainy picture of Giessen Army Airfield was taken around 1956.
The field's short pierced steel planking (PSP) runway can be seen at the
top of the picture.
The wooden hangar
at Giessen reportedly was a leftover from the Luftwaffe
days at the then much larger airfield but does not look like typical Luftwaffe
construction style.
