Response from Benno Knorr, Germany: the "unknown location" is in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The historical postal coach still runs for tourists today! The SHELL station (on the corner of Bahnhofstrasse and Chamonix strasse) is gone but the "Seethalers Gästehaus" in the background still waits for guests.
