Bad Hersfeld MP Station, 1980s (Source: name withheld) Photos of the West German border station at Herlaushausen. It was demolished after the reunification of the two German states. It saw a lot of “action” during the Chernobyl crisis. Vehicles trying to cross into the west were radio-active. The German NBC troops inspected each vehicle. Many were “hot” and forced to return to the east to decontaminate before being allowed entrance to West Germany.
