General Dwight D. Eisenhower, first Supreme Allied
Commander Europe (SACEUR), greets men of the 2nd Armored
Division at Camp Y-79 near Mannheim. Upon arrival at Bremerhaven,
the 2nd Armd Division was transferred to troop trains and
moved to Camp Y-79 for staging. From Y-79 the units would
then move by truck to the various new stations. (The official
Army photographer was Bill Doyle, 7796th Sig Co. He believes
the shot was taken on 14 August 51.)
